SAY IT WITH ME NOW

I will not be beating myself up in 2011 for who I am and who I am not. You won't be either......

and while I'm at it may I suggest that you don't beat yourself up. If you can't muster up enough strength to change who you are, deal with who you are...but don't beat yourself up. That's not cool.

Anyone who knows me knows that I cuss. A LOT. And while I don't cuss all day every day of my life, I speak with a very colorful language sometimes. I cuss when I am happy. When your cheerleader rolls out on you

My cheerleader is gone. She got tired. She packed up her overworked pom poms and rolled right out. I’m sitting here wondering when she’s coming back. I need her. But I overworked her.  I spent the bulk of 2014 doing 100 miles easy. I kept telling myself that I needed to grind. The grind does not grind itself. The brand does not brand itself. And my network will not increase from the comfort of my living room. Looking back on my year, I now realize that I exhausted myself. I’m tired physically. I’m tired mentally. And more importantly, I’m tired emotionally and psychologically.  I am currently unable to “feel” much of anything. That’s partially due to the crash I had recently. Beyonce, Trump, and The War on Black Unity

I don't know if I can think of a woman, black woman more specifically, who is more polarizing in 2017 than Beyonce'. She announced today that she was pregnant with twins. And like clockwork, people on the far right and others on the far left took to social media to stand (either up or down) for Beyonce and her announcement. She's been called a distraction, a queen, and a lot of things in between. I joked on social media before about putting in an application for the BeyHive when she dropped Lemonade. I'm not a hater, nor am I a stan. I sit right in the middle. I enjoy listening to and dancing to her music. I enjoy watching her perform. I'd never pay to see her live. And while I think that she's arguably the greatest performer in my children's generation, I have the benefit of having lived long enough to know other great performers.
